Why background check is not the designated answer?

The chief audit executive recently submitted a longer-term engagement work schedule. The work schedule includes engagements that have not been done in the past. To complete the work schedule, it will be necessary to recruit two new internal auditors. The most important criteria when recruiting the new staff are:

    a.Education and experience.correct
    b.Education and background check.
    c.Experience and job description.wrong
    d.Experience and continuing education.

    Correct Answer Explanation for A:

The CAE needs to coordinate with human resources in order to be involved in recruiting the new staff. The most important criteria in hiring is the education and experience of the candidate. The individual needs to have the technical skills or background to do the job. This does not mean that everyone who is hired needs to be a CIA, but there should be some indication that candidates will be able to do the job based on their formal education or through experience in a previous position that is related to what needs to be done.

While a background check will be part of the hiring process, it is not one of the most important criteria. After we find a candidate with the right education and experience, then we will do the background check. But, we do not start with a background check for everyone who applies.
