Postby brikin » Mon Jul 12, 2010 4:26 am

Hi,

I am planning to take my CMA part 1 exam in either September or October but on IMA website I didnt find the schedule of dates available for these months.

Can someone please guide me to find these exam dates.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Rik,

The exams are administered at Prometric testing centers. They are not given on specific dates because they are administered on computer. They are offered during specific testing windows, however.

You first need to register for the exam on the IMA's website. After they process your registration, they will send you an authorization number. With that authorization number, you can then go to the Prometric website and schedule your exam at your nearest testing center for any date during September or October. For more information about the registration process, please see page 3 of the Study Plan.

You can find the testing center nearest to you on the Prometric website. Here is a link to the page on the Prometric website where you can enter your address, and it will tell you the nearest testing center to you: http://securereg3.prometric.com/siteselection.aspx.

The information about the testing windows is in several places on the IMA's website. Here is one document where you can confirm what the testing windows are. It is in the FAQ document posted on the IMA's website under Certification. Here is a link to it (it is a pdf file): http://www.imanet.org/pdf/FAQ_Final_11-13.pdf

Just search in the document for the following question:

Will the exams be offered during specific testing windows?

Hi Lynn,

Thanks very much for your reply. I looked at the links you provided and my first step will be to get registered for the exam in order to get the authorization number.

Your help is always appreciated.

Cheers,
Rik
