Studying for and passing the CIA Exams is a mission that requires dedication and hard work. From our experience at HOCK with thousands of candidates, we know that planning makes this process much easier. Because the exam is available on an ongoing basis and there is no date by which you need to be prepared, studying can seem endless without a proper plan. We know it is easy to "put things off until tomorrow."
There isn't one "right" answer to this question. Our Study Plans provide guidelines for how much to study in terms of weeks, assuming that you study 8-10 hours per week and have a basic background in Accounting. Depending on your personal and professional obligations, and your previous experience with the exam topics, you can easily adjust these plans to be shorter or longer. For example, if you are highly motivated, have a lot of free time, and have previous exposure to the exam topics, you may be able to pass one exam every 4 weeks. If you have limited study time, and are not familiar with many of the exam topics, you may need to study 3-6 months per Part.
Personalized Study Plans are available online to those who purchase the HOCK international Study Materials. By selecting a date to begin studying and a target exam date, a Personalized Study Plan will automatically adjust the standard Study Plans to your schedule. You can also have your Personalized Study Plan emailed to you at the beginning of each week.
Anyone is welcome to download our CIA Study Plans. We encourage prospective CIA candidates to download the study plans to evaluate the topics covered, the suggested time commitment and the HOCK CIA Distance Learning Program.

While studying, there will be some topics that you find difficult. Our students can always contact HOCK and we will help you as much as possible. Also, keep in mind that you do not need to have 100% knowledge of 100% of the exam content in order to pass. At certain points you will need to decide whether the extra time spent learning something is worth the extra knowledge gained.
The CMA exam is changing in 2010, but all candidates can begin and/or continue under the old program. Please view our CMA Exam Transition Guide and contact us if you have any questions.

I am impressed by your speedy response. I never dreamed I'd get an answer, let alone a solution, on a Sunday evening. I figured, maybe tomorrow.
This is the second time I've emailed HOCK (the first time I wasn't a customer yet), and I should have learned based on how fast you replied to my first email. My hat off to your organization for making customers feel important. It's so refreshing! Thank YOU!
